Free Max Factor at Kmart!

I have been holding on to these B1G1 coupons for awhile just hoping for a good way to use them. Well this is it!! Kmart is offering Max Factor makeup B1G1.

I had 3 coupons from 9/07 Red Plum for B1G1 (buy one get one free) Max Factor Lip products. I also had 2 coupons from this past Sunday (10/19) RP for B1G1 Max Factor face products.

I have never used Max Factor before and good gravy it is expensive!! I thought that the computer had failed to ring the sale when the cashier said my total was 42.00 before coupons. Nope it rang correctly. Before sale and coupons I got 76.90 worth of makeup today! Plus I purchased one jug of Hawaiian Punch (on sale for 2.00/gallon). My total after tax was 4.87. Now THAT's a deal!

Kmart's Super Double Coupons-Again!!

Wow so I used to say that I didnt like Kmart. They may be changing that!!

For the second time in just over a month Kmart is offering double coupons up to and including 2.00 coupons!! October 1-5 and it IS at all Kmarts. If you get there and they arent participating, call Kmart customer service and they will call your store for you. My store was participating.

Some rules to remember:

No internet coupons

No more then 4 of the same product can be purchased using double coupons

No overage

If the coupon is for buy 2 get a discount, it will only double up to the value of the FIRST item. So if the item is 1.50 and you have a coupon for 1 off of 2. The coupon *should* double to 2.00, but it wont. Because of this I avoided buy 2 coupons.

No more then 75 coupons per day

Seems like a lot of 'no's but really its a lot of yeses :).

Here are the match-ups I found and took advantage of:

~Crest for Kids 1.99 use the 1.00 off coupon from P/G FREE

~Glade Candle Holder, the Holiday candle holder (only the holder) is 2.99. Use the 2.00 off any Glade Candle Holder, FREE after doubling

~Revlon nail polish 4.19 use 2.00 off any Revlon color cosmetic (there are a bunch of these), 19 CENTS after doubling!

~Advil PM 20 count, 4.59, use 2.00 off any Advil PM, 59 cents after double

~Jergen's hand lotion, on sale for 2.50 (8-10 oz only) use the 1.00 coupon right there next to the new Jergen's lotion display, 50 cents after doubling

~Renuzit Super Odor Neutalizer, 2.29, use 1.00 off coupon, .29 after doubling

~Loreal eye color, 3.39, use 2.00 off any Loreal makeup, FREE

~Pert Plus (25.4 oz bottle) 4.99, use 2.00 off coupon, .99 after doubling **if you use the 1.50 q on any of the smaller bottles, they are 2.99 so free after doubling**(I couldnt use them because I used mine at Walgreens because they paid ME to take theirs lol)

~Gillette Fusion shaving cream, on sale for 3.00, use 1.00 off Q, 1.00 after doubling (my most expensive item except Pull ups, but DH was in need of shaving cream)

~Shick Extreme Comfort Disposible 4 pack, on sale for 4.99, use 2.00 Q, .99 after doubling

~Covergirl Foundation, 3.99, buy two and use B1GO coupon and 1.00 off any CG, 1.99 for two!

~Glade candle refills, 2.99, buy 3, use the B2GO coupon and 2x1.00 off any candle refills, 1.98 for three!

~Pull-ups 10.99, use 2.00 off q, 6.99 after doubling
I also had a coupon for 1.00 off any Glade. It was priced at .89 and I DID get overage since it wasnt a doubled coupon. So 28 items for 20.00 and I just noticed that I got a catalina for 2.00 off my next purchase!! Hmm I wonder if I have any more coupons here...

CVS Clearance ROCKS!

If you read my Walgreens post you will see that I dont feel there were very good deals at CVS today. That said, my receipt says that I saved 59.00 just today!

I bought the Cover Girl foundation. It was on sale for 5.49 and I had a B1GO coupon from the 9/28 insert. 2 for 5.49 was great. It gets better. I was supposed to get 5.49 in ECB but it spit out 5.79. That means they paid ME 30 cents to take 2 foundations!!

I was happy and ready to leave with my ECB and hold them for next week since there wasnt anything more I wanted from the add. But wait, there is something over in the clearance bin. A back pack. DD has been begging for a back pack. 90% off? 1.29? What else could I find? So once again I cleared out a lot of stuff from the clearance bin.

2 backpacks (one for me one for DD)
1 Student planner (that goes, through 2010) Will use for HS lesson planning
1 package of plastic containers
3 mini staplers
5 mini highlighters (DD wanted these)
7 tablets of paper (they did have Hanna Montana on them, but for 29 cents each I can deal)
2 Hanna Montana Pens
1 Mini ruler

Gave the cashier my 5.79 in ECB, Total OOP= 10 cents

I am very glad I went to CVS today and so is DD!

My Walgreens Deals September 28

Generally on Saturday night I am figuring out the best order of my purchases at CVS. This week, it was Walgreens. IMO Walgreens had MUCH better sales this week.

My total was 39.65. I will get 19.48 back (plus 10%) in rebates. Net purchase price of 20.17. I took advantage of the following deals:

2 Febreze Air Effects, sale 2.49, 2 x 1/1 coupons (P&G 9/28), 2.98
2 Febreze Noticables, 6.99, 2 x 5/1 (P&G 9/28), 3.98
Deal on Febreze, Swiffer, Mr Clean or Cascade: Buy 2 get 1 RR, Buy 3 get 4 RR, buy 4 get 5 RR so I bought 4 at 6.96 and got 5 RR net of 1.96

1 Bottle of Herbal Essences Conditioner (I am always short on conditioner) sale 5.99, 2.00 Q (9/7 RP)
1 Package Natural Instincts Hair Color, sale 5.99, 2 q (8/31 P&G)
Deal on Select Hair Care buy 2 get 5 RR, buy 3 get 8 RR, so I bought 2 at 7.98 and got 5 back in RR Net of 2.98

2 Gillette Fusion Manual Razors (this THRILLED DH!), sale 8.99, 2X4/1 Q, 9.98, got 8 back in RR net of 1.98

2 Puffs Facial Tissue (104 count) Wags Q .89, .25 q's from 9/28 P&G, 1.28

2 Soft soap hand soap, Wags Q .99, .35 q's from 9/28 insert, 1.28

2 Pert Plus 2 in 1 shampoo, Sale 3.49, 2.50 Easy Saver, 1.50 9/21 insert, 51 cent MONEY MAKER :) for each- 1.02 profit

3 Oral B Cross Action Tooth brush, 4.49, I had 2 .75cent coupons, total of 11.97 (these were in 3 different transactions) received RR of 13.47, 1.50 Profit!!

L'Oreal Skin Genesis Face Clothes, 6.99, 1 Q 9/21 RP, 5.99 will get 6.99 in rebate, 1.00 money maker!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation, 7.49, 1 Q 9/14 RP, 6.49, will get 7.49 in rebate 1.00 money maker!

2 Gillette Mens Shampoo/Conditioner 2 in 1, 2/10 sale, 2x 2.00 q's, 2/6 will get 5.00 in rebates, 1.00 net

I also came across the clearance and got 2 12.9 oz cans of Similac and 2 1 qt ready to serve Similac for 1.00 each!! I also got 2 big boxes (210) Kleenex and 2 of the small but pretty tissue boxes from Kleenex. Those were also 1.00 each but one I got for .10 because the checker was in a hurry and rang it wrong and didnt feel like fixing it.

For fillers I ended up with 3 candy bars and a marshmellow Tiger 'sucker' thing that DD begged for.

I was reminded of something today. Remember that when you are using coupons at Walgreens that you have an item for each of your coupons. I had heard this but it came back to bite me and really threw off my system. I didnt remember till the transaction AFTER the one that I ended up spending more then I wanted to.

All in all, however, I ended up with 31 items for 20.17 after rebates. And seeing that I generally spend 11.98 for one can of formula, I pretty much stole everything else. Thanks Walgreens!!

Here is the run down:

**I asked if the total was before or after coupons and she thought after so I didnt risk it and put up enough to get 25 after coupons.**

I receive 10.00 in Rewards plus an additional 2.50 because I bought 4 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks (I didnt know about that one!).

So my second transaction included things we needed and a couple of extras that I had thrown in incase my math from the above transaction was off. In the end I got everything in my cart.

3 Hamburger Helper on sale for .89 cents a box, .80 off 3 q, 1.87 (and BTW one box is usually over 2.00!)

Total: 13.85, minus 10.00 from first transaction, minus 2.50 from first transaction, total OOP=1.35

Total at Shop N Save= 27. 37 for 28 items. Very cool!!

$40 for 40 items of food

I am thrilled. I feel that today is a day of true savings and I have finally arrived at thrifty lol! I went to 2 stores and here is my break-down of purchases.

12 boxes of cereal=12.00!! Thank you to MoneySavingMom for this awesome tip. I read the add but for some reason I didnt see this deal. Buy 4 General Mills cereals for 11.00 and receive a gift card of 5.00. Net of 4/6 1.50 per box. I really was a good deal to start but it gets better. Oh and in case you are wondering this isnt for the 8 oz tiny boxes. These were 11.5 oz (Lucky Charms) to 16.5 boxes (Cocoa Puffs) and everything in between. The GOOD stuff!

Transaction #1 was for 4 boxes of Cheerios. I used 4 coupons for 1.00 off a box of Cheerios. Follow this link here and this one here. Print a coupon and then hit the back button to get a second one from each link. That will give you 4 coupons. So 2.75/box, 4 boxes, 4 coupons, total OOP=7.08 plus I got a 5.00 gift card.

So next transaction was a little different. It included a box of Kix and I had a coupon for 75 cents off. However, the Kix was priced at 2.99 (it was included in the gift certificate deal but not in the 4/11). But what was beter is that 2 of the other cereals (which ones I dont know) where marked down further to compete with competators. So I bought 4 boxes at 10.87, 75 cent coupon, used 5.00 GC from the first transaction, total OOP= 5.19

Transaction #3 4 more boxes 2 of which were 2.54 2 were 2.75. Used a coupon for 1.00 off 3 General Mills cereals. Then I used the 5.00 GC from trans action #2, total OOP= 4.65

Total at Target=16.92, and still one 5.00 gift card=Net of 11.92 WOW!

PS. I added 15.00 to the 5.00 card and I now have a gift for the birthday party we will attend on Friday.

This post is getting long. I will follow up with another for details on the rest of the food.

Free Buddies

It took me a little bit to realize that I had gotten this coupon. I read about it on Money Saving Mom and thought too bad we didnt get that one :(. Then I found it!! There is a 2 page add in the September 14th insert and it has 3 coupons on it. The middle one says 3.00 off any 3 Johnson and Johnson products. This includes Johnson and Johnson's Buddies!

My local Walmart sells them for 97 cents each. So, I took my 3 coupons and cleared off the shelf. Yep there were exactly 9 Buddies on the shelf and I needed 9 to use all of my coupons.

Can you believe that I have two children and I had never even heard of these things before?? I am in love. They smell sooo good!! I have set one out on the sink so my DD can use it and well guess who else has been using it? LOL

If you are local to me you may want to wait till Walmart restocks. If not, go clear out your local shelves.

CVS, Walgreens, Park N Shop 9.68

Here is my haul for today. Total paid OOP 22.67. 7.99 in rebates, 3.00 in ECB and 2.00 in RR= a net of 9.68. This picture is missing sliced cheese and frozen corn (they were in the fridge/freezer).

So here is how I did it:

CVS Transaction #1.

For the record, this was not the transaction I intended at first. I went to get my Arnicare. For that matter I intended to get as many as 5 Arnicare as it is a money maker this month. However, my tiny CVS doesnt carry the product. They are going to order some from another store and call me. So, I figure I will only get one but I guess that is better then none?

What I DID get was:

Just for Men Hair Color, on sale for 7.99, 2 off coupon= 5.99 earned 2.00 in ECB and can submit this for a rebate of 7.99! Made me 4.00!

Ambi face wash (I think this will be in SIL stocking as it wont work with my skin tone), 6.99, 3.00 off coupon=3.99 earned 3.00 in ECB.

Used 2/10 printable coupon

8.84 OOP, earned 5.00 ECB, rebate of 7.99 made 4.15!

Just for Men Coupon, Just for Men Rebate Form, Ambi SkinCare Coupon, 2/10 coupon page 30

CVS Transaction #2

We were getting ready to leave when I noticed that there were still some items left in the summer clearance bin. So, I dove in. This is when I found out about the awesome scanner (see following post).

Hair clips 10 cents
3 Flav-or-ice popcycles 15 cents each, 45 cents
Doggie chew toy (stocking stuffer for my parent's dog) 10 cents
4 Packs of plastic cups (for DD B-Day party this weekend) 28 cents each, 1.12
1 package of Floam. DD has been begging for this stuff. She carried it around Walgreens (it was 2.00 there) so I was thrilled to find it for just 23 cents!

Used my 2.00 ECB earned from the Just for Men coloring.
Total OOP= 2 cents!!!

Walgreens Transaction: Huggies Pullups (for DD) on sale for 9.99. Used 2.00 off coupon, 7.99 received 2.00 in RR net cost 5.99. Total OOP 8.65

Huggies Coupon

Last but not least my picture that's missing a bunch!
Park N Shop Transaction
4 cans of Campbell's soup (Chicken Noodle or Tomato only), on sale 2/1.00, used 40 cents off 4 from 9/7 insert, doubled= 1.20 (30 cents each)
Not pictured:
1 bag of frozen corn 1.00
and a package of cheese slices 2.39 (not on sale :( )
Total OOP=5.18

New Scanner at CVS!!!

Okay so my CVS is small and often behind so maybe its not new at yours but it is new at mine.

Its a price scanner. Fantastic for finding out how much the 90% off summer clearance is (see future post for 15 cent popcycles). Very helpful. But the best part is, when you go in pull out your ECB card and scan it! Coupons will come out the side!! :) Today I got 1.00 off water and a 2/10 coupon!!!

Wags Deals 9/14

DD and I took off for Walgreens today. It was too cute. We got to the door and I picked up a basket and a flier. What did DD do? Picked up a basket and a flier :). She then promptly ran into a display and knocked it over! I think that she is getting the hang of this sale shopping. I am looking forward to when she can read and help me find the best deals.

We spent 12.71 today but this included a 9.99 gift for DD. A friend has this cool tape recorder with 2 microphones and DD loved it. She told me she got it at Wags and I have been watching for it ever since. I hadnt seen it at our store. Today we went to a different store and I was thrilled to find it on the shelf. So, really our deals only cost about 2.71 (and probably slightly less since that would include tax on the gift).

My 2.71 purchased:

1 Bic Soliel razors, on sale for 4.99, 1/1 from Easy Saver, 2/1 from 9/14 insert=1.99
2 Colgate Max Fresh with beads 6.0 tubes on sale for .99, 2 .75 coupons from 9/7 inserts=.48
1 Soft Soap Pomagranate on sale for .99, .35 coupon from 8/24, .64
Plus the 9.99 gift
2.00 RR
Total OOP= 12.71, though as I look at my receipt I realize that I didnt get credit for my 35 cent coupon. So Sad :(.

Other Blogs about this weeks Walgreen's Deals:

Dollar Deals at Park N Shop ~9/8 Thru 9/14~

For those of you who are local to me, check out some of this week’s deals at Park N Shop (locations in Bethalto and Godfrey). This week’s paper (1.50) paid for itself in this trip alone (add with my CVS and Walgreens deals and well, I should have bought two lol).

There are many items on sale 10/10 (or 1.00 each-you only have to buy one to get the sale price). So, pair the 1.00 deals with coupons from 9/7’s Sunday inserts and you get even better deals.

This was my transaction:

Yoplait individual yogurts are on sale 20 for 7.00 (or 35 cents each). Coupon from 9/7, 40 cents off the purchase of 6. Added bonus-ParkNShop doubles coupons 40 cents or less. So, 6 @ 35 cents=2.10, minus 80 cents in savings=1.30 or 22 cents each

Pillsbury Grand Biscuts 10/10, purchase 1 at 1.00, used 40 cent coupon from 9/7, doubled. 20 cents total.

3 Hamburger Helper mixes 10/10, 3.00 used .75 off three coupon from 9/7, 2.25 or 75 cents each.

I also picked up
3 loaves of Bunny Bread (10/10)=3.00
1 North Star Fudge bars (10/10)=1.00 ** I took the LAST box** but if you want this ask for a raincheck.

Total out of pocket = 7.47

There are additional coupon match ups in this weeks add. I would love to hear your savings too J.

God Bless & Happy Saving,
Lisa

For the price of a jug of milk-my CVS deals this week

Granted, the jug of milk would be on the pricy side, but I spent just 4.92 at CVS this week. This was my second trip to CVS but the first one that I am proud of. If I could spend this little each week, I will certainly be able to balance our budget.

I purchased the following:

We also got a second package of Skittles (already eaten) and a jug of milk (in the fridge).

Here's how I did it.

Transaction #1~ This wasnt really a transaction. It was a wash. This was on sale last month for 5.79 and then was free after ECB (extra care bucks). However, our store was out of them last month so I got a rain check. When the clerk rang the raincheck it came up free, didnt have to buy a thing.

Transaction #2

~Loreal Skin Genesis Cleanser, 5.99,

~Herbal Essenses 2 in one shampoo/conditioner, on sale for 2.49, used a coupon for 1.00 off=.49

~Used 4.00 worth of ECB from last week's trip

Total OOP= 2.79, Earned 6.99 in ECB

Transaction #3

~Irish Spring 10 pack, 4.99

~Revlon Nail color, 3.99

Used 6.99 in ECB

Total= 2.13 OOP, 5 ECB earned

Transaction #4

~Dora folding chair (a gift for DD) .99

~2 gallon jug of milk (not pictured) 2.99

~2 packs of Skittles (one eaten) 1.00

Used 5.00 of ECB

Total OOP= Free!

Not too bad for only my 2nd trip to CVS :).

I got all this for 8 cents

In order save money, we are in the process of switching DS from disposable diapers to cloth. I had heard that some Targets were now carrying BumGenius diapers in store. I had to find out if my Target was one of them. Sadly, I found out that ours Target does not carry the BG diapers. But, all was not lost.

Thanks to a great tip from moneysavingmom.com I got everything in these two pictures for just .08!

1~Peanuts Tee was 6.99 clearanced for 1.74
2~Mr Happy mood chooser 1.00
3~Little Miss Sunshine mouse pad 1.00
4~Miss Stubborn write of board 1.00

I am a sucker for the 1.00 isle at Target and I always feel bad for finding 'junk' to buy, but I do. So, getting it all for 8 cents made me very happy!

How did I do this?

Well, first, I bought these:

2 packages of PopTarts, one box of Cheese-Its and a package of Elf Fudge cookies-yum! I was a huge hit at my house when I refilled the snack cupboard :)

Target had buy 4 Poptarts, Rice Crispie Treats, Cheese-Its, or Keebler cookies for 9.00. Not bad not great. But, when you bought 4 you got a 5.00 Target gift card with your purchase.

So, I purchased the food and spent 9.05. Then, I ran a second transaction for all our fun extras and spent just .08.

Total spent at Target=9.13

This week Target is giving away Gift card again. Buy 2 boxes of Luvs (on sale for 15.00 each) and get a 5.00 gift card. If you have a 1.00 off coupon from the P&G insert from 8/31 you will save even more.

Kmart's Double Coupons

So I have been clipping coupons (other then diaper and formula) for just over a week now. I have been taking any I can get my hands on and trying hard to read tutorials and advise on how to use them to get the most for my money. There is a certain thrill that comes when you first start doing this. So, imagine my excitement when I opened the newspaper to: DOUBLE COUPONS at KMart! They will double coupons with a value of up to 2.00!! I was so thrilled I didnt sleep well.

I had to work a half day and then took my little guy to the doctor. That ment I had to drag two tired children with me to the store. My son slept most of the time in his car seat, but my DD was another story. She is almost 3 and, well, is a bit of a handful especially when tired. I bring this up because when my total rang up at the register I thought it seemed so extremely high. I was trying to wrangle my DD at the same time, so I wrote out my check. Thankfully, I did look over my recept right away and found that I was overcharged 21.00 on a can of formula! What I didnt find until I got home, however, is that it seems I did not receive credit for nearly 4.00 in coupons. That said, I did save almost 30.00 with my coupons. My total savings in sales and coupons was $74.88!!

My total came to 73.71 (after the adjustment). Here is what I received (listed with what the price should have been after coupons):

Picture #1:

Huggies size 4 92 count, on sale for 20.00, 1.50 doubled= 17.00

Wonder Kids Birthday shirt (for DD 3rd B-day on the 23rd), free with purchase of the Huggies.

Luvs, size 6, count 66, 19.99, 2.00 Q doubled= 15.99

5 Gerber 2nd foods .69 each, 1.00 Q doubled= 1.45

4 Gerber 3rd foods .79 each, 1.00 Q doubled= 1.16

2 Gerber cereal boxes (8 oz ea) 1.79 each, 1.00 Q doubled= 1.58

Nestle Good Start Supreme Natural Cultures was 28.49 on clearance for 7.13

Picture #2:

Dora's Colgate for Kids, 2.49, $.75 Q doubled= 1.24

Crest whitening Citrus flavor & free mouth wash, 3.49, 2.00 coupon doubled= Free!

Garnier Shampoo and Conditioner, on sale 2 for 4, 1.00 Q doubled= 2.00

2 packs of Ziplock 5 count small square containers, sale 2/5.00, 1.50 off 2 doubled=2.00

Clorox Kitchen spray on sale 2.50, coupon $.75 doubled= 1.25

Glade Scented Oil Candles 5.99, coupon 2.00 doubled = 1.99

CoverGirl Liquid makeup base, on sale 2/6 (bought just one), coupon 1.00 doubled=1.00

2 Kraft Mac, 1.09 ea, coupon 1/2, doubled= $.18 (I know for sure now that this one I only got 1.09 off)

2 SnackPacks of pudding, on sale 10/10, coupon .75 off 2, doubled= .50

Picture #3

5 bottles of Xtra detergent, 72 oz each 5/10.00 no extra coupons. We use this everyday so it is a deal for me!

So, as you can see from my coupons and total that I should have saved about 4.00 more then I did. Lesson learned, watch as each coupon is scanned and be sure that each is scanning as it should. Dont be afraid to take their time.

Do you have a Kmart near you and want to join in the fun? Check out the following blog. It has all the details of the coupons and the list of participating stores:

Happy saving!

My First Day on the Blog

Though I have had one short-lived attempt at blogging in the past, this one I hope to keep alive for quite some time.

I have always loved a sale. I hardly, if ever, pay full price for anything. But, one thing I have not done is clip coupons. Thanks to my good friend Liz, I learned about an awesome blogger named Crystal Paine. She has a blog at moneysavingmom.com. There, she posts to let others know about great coupon clipping deals and great freebies.

From time to time she gives an opportunity to link to your own blog that lists the great deals you got with that weeks sales and coupons. I wanted to play too, but I didnt have a blog to link to. So, here it is :).

I hope you have fun reading about deals that I am blessed to find. And I hope you can use them to find your own!

God Bless
